To the Supporters of the Historic Carleton Airport!
2021 was another successful year for the Friends. We received a record $28,700 in donations for the year. A number of these donations were through Qualified Charitable Distributions from IRAs. We also received a donation of a $3000 Stanton $3,000 loan and 4 shares of Stanton stock. We are extremely grateful to our donors!
In 2021, we funded $4,600 in projects at Stanton including roof repairs and purchasing a backpack leaf blower. We also funded $3,300 in general repairs including a large broken window, gutters, doors, and replaced the well pump. We started funding some of the ongoing site maintenance expenses for $1,400. These included septic cleaning, diesel fuel for the tractor, and an outdoor “portapotty”.
This year, there was some damage noticed on the cement buttresses for the main hangar and maintenance hangar. We were very concerned that this could be a major expense. With Ken’s help, we engaged a structural engineer with experience in historic buildings to evaluate the situation. While we don’t have the final report in hand, we are happy to report that buttresses are structurally sound and that the repairs and mitigation will be very reasonable.
Since our inception in late 2016, your generous donations have totaled almost $93,000! In that time, we have funded over $48,000 in projects, repairs, and expenses at Stanton.
At the end of 2021 our bank balance was $48,700. We also continue to hold the Stanton loan and stock.
Again in 2021, the Board of Directors personally donated all operating expenses. Thus, 100% of your donations go to support the Historic Carleton Airport.
We continue to build on our great working relationship with and support from John Quilling, the Stanton Airport Manager, and his team.

We have a drop box in the FBO for people to drop off donations.
We accept donations via checks mailed to us.
We have a GiveMN.org account for people to donate on-line.
We have a brokerage account. If it is advantageous for you to donate appreciated stock to FCHA, we will gladly accept your stock donation.
We accept donations of Stanton Sport Aviation stock.
We accept donations of Stanton loans.
We accept Qualified Charitable Distributions from your IRAs.
This can be a very tax advantaged way to donate to FCHA if you are at least 70 ½ years old.
